Pipe-in-hand
Curling smoke
Light shines through isolation
So blinding, yet hypnotizing
Filled with false knowledge
The smell of burning sulphur
Distracts from the sound of children
They need help now, more than ever
To pave a solid path to their future
Waving them off, taking another hit
Into another world she goes
This is the portrait of descent
The smell of burning sulphur
Distracts from the sound of the world
There was once purpose
A voice to lead a generation
Reduced to nothing
Reduced to nothing
But skin, bone
And festering scars
The husband a staggering drunk
Abusive and arrogant
The cane, his only friend
Pipe-in-hand
Curling smoke
Light shines through isolation
So blinding, yet hypnotizing
The offspring of an overachiever
Never enough to impress
Never to impress
Labelled a fiend, A drop-kick, dead beat
Failure of a mother
With blacked out rotten teeth
Yearning for help
Rehabilitation, in sight
If she can make it through the night
While His weakened mind is screaming,
Dependant on substance
To sooth and ease the pain
To rot and kill the brain

Swiss Melodic Black / Death Metal. I never wrote anything about this & given that I listen to it time & again, I really should! This is incredibly technical & amazingy good! I am having multiple eargasms & goosebumps for the entire duration of the album! Plus they have a new album coming out in a couple of months that I cannot wait for! A criminally underrated band... Stortregn rule! Highly recommended!!! bmurator

Abigail Williams has had a weird career with hiatuses and lineup changes, but they have finally perfected their sound on Walk Beyond the Dark. This album has such a refreshing and natural feeling that makes it one of the top atmospheric black metal albums of recent years. Ryan
